14: Workshop Making a film poster
From December 26th to December 31st 2022
In this workshop, artist Nassim Azarzar invites participants to manipulate various art tools in order to create film posters for the amateur videos in the Cinémathèque’s archives. The aim is to introduce participants to aesthetic research within a cinematographic framework, and to translate ideas through visual elements.

Nassim Azarzar
Nassim Azarzar (@nazarzar) is an artist who is developing a research into imagery and popular imagination, exploring their various forms, occurrences and representational mechanisms in the Moroccan context. For several years now, he has been working on an ongoing project called “Bonne route”, which examines the decorative practices seen on trucks transporting goods between the port cities of Tangier, Casablanca and Agadir in particular, and the Moroccan villages of the Atlas and Rif regions.
Azarzar’s aesthetic research revolves around decorative arts, painting, drawing, sculpture and experimental cinema.
His work has been exhibited at Documenta 15 in Kassel, Germany, ZKM | Center for Art and Media Karlsruhe in Germany, 18 Derb el Ferrane in Marrakech, Kulte Center for Contemporary Art & Editions in Rabat as well as Atelier 21 in Casablanca and Mahal Art Space in Tangier.
