15: Workshop Filming dance with Nadja Harek and Adnane Tragha
From February 6th to February 11th 2023
As part of the performing arts, dance is a channel for self-expression using one’s body. It allows people to express their emotions and inner experiences. In an effort to tell the story of Tangier’s dancers, we invite participants to take part in the creation of a documentary where the subject is inspired by reality, and to stage in a way that conveys their singular points of view.

Nadja Harek & Adnane Tragha
Nadja Harek:
Nadja Harek is a writer-director who graduated with a degree in cinema from the University of Montpellier, where she completed a thesis on guilt and atonement in the work of Martin Scorsese. She then embarked on a professional career working as a location manager, cameraman and editor. After producing institutional reports and recordings of hip-hop dance shows, she moved on to directing her own films. Mindful of the representation of diversity on screen, she wrote and directed “Du cercle à la scène” in 2012, a documentary about the integration of a generation of hip-hop dancers into contemporary dance. She later directed B-Girls in 2014, which explores the daily lives of four female dancers in the highly male-coded world of hip-hop, followed by Mayotte hip hop (r)évolution in 2017. All three films were co-produced with France Ô.
